Circonflex collection is one of my first eyewear design and my first patent application.

This project strated in 2009, when I created a new glasses concept, using natural material and removing as much as possible unnecessary pieces. MÛ CIRCONFLEX was born, with no hinges, a wood front, light and highly comfortable. As we need to adjust the temples to each person. I choosed to mixed materials, but to keep them 100 % mono-material and 100 % disassembled. For this project, Jérémie PLAZY and I won the Reddot Design Award in 2014.

This innovative collection combines the flexibility of the frame temples  through a spring-action effect with the lightness and elegance of wood. A truly original concept: no hinges connecting the arms to the front of the frame – developed on the same principle as a headband.

The flexible arms are made of surgical steel, connected by stainless steel, and use an innovative hinge-less, spring-action system for folding and storage. Each frame is made of German beech, handcrafted, sanded and varnished by skilled artisans in the Jura mountains of France.
