In 2008, I started the production of wooden glasses made by hand.

I wanted to create a simple frame, without hinges. It was made out of plywood and in one piece. I designed the mould to press the wood veneers and I did several prototypes with cabinet maker’s friends, in Paris.

I was quite happy about my new concept, but after few meetings with opticians, they told me that glasses have to be adjusted for a good fitting. Indeed, we are all different and I realised that my glasses were good but not enough to go on the market.

The funny thing is that few years later, an Italian brand did it. They put on the market the same glasses as I did, with the same fitting problems, but it worked out.

Anyway, I’m still thinking that we need to adjust frames. It was a great experience and few years later, I started my own eye-wear brand company, with adjustable products, like Circonflex & Cinematic collections.
