DOMESTIC LANDSCAPE
This project is part of a broader research effort that considers our living space as a natural environment, with seasonal variations and topography. This principle was the starting point for a holistic study of the entire home, considering each space and piece of furniture as a whole defined by parameters/constraints such as temperature, sunlight, humidity, etc. The entire domestic environment as we know it thus became entirely mobile, adaptable and adjustable according to physiological needs.
This research was essentially theoretical, based on the work of Philippe Rahm Architects. However, in collaboration with the Arts et Métiers de Lille, we decided to prototype an element of this seasonal habitat, a base: for a table, a platform, a structure that allows the topography of the living space to evolve.
The structure was as minimalist as possible, with two stable positions and three contact points on each side.
This module is part of a set, a system made up of elements of different scales to create our living space. These different structures would help us to create spaces of different heights: lounge area, workspace, dining area, relaxation areas, etc.

Thanks to the foundry laboratory at ‘Ecole des arts et métiers‘, its professor Philippe Costes, and the school’s students, we were able to prototype a first module measuring 720 mm in height, made of aluminium.
