PREFAB MODULE

During a study on tableware, particularly centerpieces and fruit bowls, we realized that these objects have an aesthetic specific to their era. If we take, for example, a centerpiece from the Renaissance period, it will resemble the architecture and ornamentation of its era: columns, fountains, etc. This observation is not unique to tableware but can be generalized to all furniture and decorative objects.
Based on this postulate that an object must belong to its era, we asked ourselves what a centerpiece might look like today.
We drew inspiration from the field of architecture and identified that our era is defined by concrete, which is also linked to the main energy system on which our civilization depends: oil.
We therefore used the shape of self-supporting pre-stressed concrete floors as our inspiration. We then developed two overlapping shapes, a cross and a square, made of plastic (oil). These modules create a system similar to that of self-supporting concrete floors.
