An innovative hinge patent for spectacles that improves the durability of the frame. The innovation is based on a fusible element that can be replaced by the user.

The simplicity of our design allows us to control production costs by limiting the number of parts, as well as the time and number of steps performed by operators.

Our innovation : a ‘fuse’ protects the frame in the event of extraordinary use, such as an accident. It is an elastic band designed to break when stretched beyond a certain point. It can be replaced by the user directly without any tools.

Our innovation thus offers real benefits in terms of usability, durability and repairability.

We have carried out quality tests in order to obtain CE standardisation. We took the standardisation tests even further and, using the same elastic bands, carried out more than 22,000 cycles (opening and closing) without any breakages.

It took us over eight years to develop and refine this innovation and produce a product ready for commercialisation. We hope that this product will soon be available on the market.
